The Early Years team works collaboratively to provide a structured yet flexible environment that supports each childs individual needs. Teaching Assistants are highly valued and play an essential role in supporting learning wellbeing and school readiness.
Due to increased pupil numbers and additional learning needs the school is now seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will support children in Nursery and Reception helping them develop key skills in communication early literacy numeracy and social interaction. You will work closely with teachers to support both group learning and targeted interventions.
You will also provide additional support to children with SEN speech and language delay EAL and emotional or behavioural needs ensuring inclusive access to learning.
Support EYFS learning activities in line with the EYFS framework
Work with individual pupils and small groups to support development targets
Support children with SEN and additional needs
Assist with phonics early reading writing and maths activities
Encourage positive behaviour independence and confidence
Support classroom routines and transitions
Assist with outdoor learning and play-based activities
Observe and record childrens progress and achievements
Work collaboratively with EYFS staff SENCO and parents
Support childrens personal care needs where required
Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic caring and reliable with a genuine passion for working with young children.
You should have:
Experience working in EYFS or early years settings
Knowledge of child development and play-based learning
Experience or interest in SEN and inclusive education
A calm patient and nurturing manner
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive and flexible approach
