Role Purpose

The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work closely with the EYFS lead and class teacher to support children aged 35. The role involves:

• Delivering structured and play-based activities that promote learning across all EYFS areas

• Providing one-to-one or small group support for children with additional needs

• Supporting pupils social emotional and behavioural development

You will be instrumental in ensuring children with SEN or EAL can access learning and build confidence in the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through both adult-led and child-initiated activities

• Assist with phonics early literacy numeracy and creative learning

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN or EAL

• Encourage positive behaviour independence and self-regulation

• Help manage classroom routines transitions and daily activities including snack time outdoor play and circle time

• Observe assess and document childrens progress

• Collaborate effectively with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents

• Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The school seeks a patient nurturing and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant with:

• Experience in EYFS or early years settings

• Knowledge of EYFS framework and child development principles

• Interest or experience in supporting SEN and inclusive education

• Calm consistent and empathetic approach

• Strong communication teamwork and organisational skills
