The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 35 across Nursery and Reception classes working closely with the EYFS lead and class teachers. This role involves supporting both the learning and emotional development of all pupils with a particular focus on SEN and EAL learners.
Responsibilities include facilitating play-based and structured learning supporting small-group interventions and fostering a positive nurturing environment.
Assist in delivering EYFS curriculum activities including phonics early literacy numeracy and creative play
Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEN or EAL needs
Encourage independence social skills positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Support classroom routines transitions snack times and outdoor play activities
Observe assess and record pupil progress in line with EYFS learning goals
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCO external specialists and parents to ensure consistent support
Maintain safeguarding health and safety standards at all times
Support childrens emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning
The school is seeking a caring patient and adaptable EYFS Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience or interest in early years or EYFS settings
Understands child development and the EYFS framework
Is confident supporting SEN EAL and diverse learners
Maintains a calm empathetic and consistent approach to children
Demonstrates excellent communication teamwork and organisational skills
Can adapt to the dynamic and multicultural environment of an early years classroom
EYFS induction and ongoing CPD opportunities
