Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and examinations of patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses treatment options and prognosis
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Participate in case reviews and contribute to clinical discussions
- Stay informed about advancements in hematology and oncology
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology Oncology
- Strong clinical skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
- Experience in a similar role or clinical setting is preferred
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning
Schedule: 8a-5p 2-3 days per week or 5 days per week
Outpatient infusion center with 15 private bays
17-bed inpatient oncology unit
Daily Volume: 13-18 patients
Support Staff: RNs nurse navigators social workers pharmacy liaison research coordinators genetic counselors and anesthesia
EMR: Cerner
Board certification required
