Ocean Freight Exports Manager
(Based in Mumbai )
Your Role: The Ocean Freight Exports Manager will lead and manage the export business for Ocean Freight. The role focuses on driving export volumes managing key customer relationships optimizing trade lanes and ensuring smooth coordination with operations and customer service teams. This is a hands-on managerial role combining business development account management and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow Ocean Freight export volumes across assigned trade lanes
- Strengthening existing customer accounts
- Handle key export customers and ensure commercial and service excellence
- Coordinate closely with Customer Service and Operations for smooth shipment execution
- Negotiate rates with carriers NVOCCs and overseas partners
- Monitor market trends freight rates and competitor activity
- Ensure compliance with export documentation processes and regulatory requirements
- Support tender participation and contract renewals
- Guide and mentor junior sales / export executives where applicable
Requirements
- 610 years of experience in Ocean Freight Exports within freight forwarding or logistics
- Strong knowledge of export documentation Incoterms and global trade lanes
- Proven experience in sales account management or export business development
- Good commercial understanding of ocean freight pricing and carrier negotiations
- Strong communication coordination and customer-handling skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced target-driven environment
