Job Summary
Sentinel Dock & Door Solutions is a Canadian commercial service provider specializing in dock and door systems. Established in 2025 by Trivest Partners a private equity firm Sentinel was formed through the acquisition of several wellestablished regional companies including Lenworth Building Services Pro Door & Dock Systems MarLin Dock & Door Door Doctor and Secord Doors.
Together these brands deliver expert installation repair and maintenance services for overhead doors dock levelers and related equipment across commercial and industrial facilities throughout Canada.
Door Doctor is a trusted name in the overhead door and dock industry with over 40 years of experience and locations across Ontario and Quebec. We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Service Technician Overhead Doors to support service and installation work in the Ottawa area.
As a Service Technician Overhead Doors you will work closely with management and administrative teams to complete service and installation work for commercial clients. This is a handson customerfocused role that requires strong technical expertise problemsolving skills and clear communication.
Not located in Ottawa
Relocation assistance and a signing bonus are available for experienced technicians willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform commercial overhead door and dock repairs and installations
- Deliver excellent customer service during onsite visits
- Prepare work orders service reports and required documentation
- Prepare quotations and make recommendations based on site inspections
- Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients management and administration
- Identify current and future service needs repairs and replacement opportunities
- Perform work using a companyprovided service truck
- Collaborate closely with management and administrative teams to meet customer expectations
- Contribute as an integral member of a clientfocused service team
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Overhead Door & Dock Technician
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Lead Technician experience (working with an assistant) is an asset
- Customerfocused mindset with strong relationshipbuilding skills
- Proficient in completing work orders reports and job documentation
- Technical experience with:
- Overhead door and dock systems
- Electric operator installations and repairs
- Lowvoltage wiring
- Highspeed doors gate operators and dock equipment
- Pedestrian doors (asset)
- Comfortable using hand and power tools lifts ladders and torches
- Welding framing or cladding experience considered an asset
- Valid drivers license required
- Ability to work independently problemsolve and take initiative
- Willingness to work occasional overtime
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30 AM 5:00 PM
