About the role

Are you passionate about making a difference in peoples lives selectability is seeking a dedicated service navigator on a fixed term maternity relief contract from 26 January 2026 - 15 March 2027.In this role you will play a crucial part in connecting individuals with the mental health and community services they need. As a service navigator youll provide guidance and support to recipients helping them navigate available services and resources.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • focusing on assisting recipients with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) access requests and managing referral pathways
  • working to improve the integration of local health services and make the health system more accessible for individuals with severe mental illness and associated psychosocial disorders
  • serving as the primary point of contact and deliver exceptional customer service for all mental health referral inquiries
  • conducting comprehensive assessments using a range of evidence-based tools and processes to ensure effective progression of referrals
  • providing necessary information and assistance to service providers regarding service availability
  • offering inreach and outreach support to connect recipients and carers with the necessary services and supports
  • acting as a key regional source of information on psychosocial resources

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have great interpersonal skills and the ability work as part of a team.

To be successful you must:

  • experience in the mental health sector (highly desirable)
  • a working knowledge of the NDIS
  • a commitment to best practice
  • experience in stakeholder engagement (desirable)
  • strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to quickly and effectively engage with recipients
  • the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
  • demonstrated ability to use databases and Microsoft Office Suite
  • the ability to analyse and translate information into practical recipient insights

Role requirements

  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Quality Safety & You completion certificate (or the ability to obtain)
  • a current minimum P1 C class Queensland drivers licence
  • a currently registered roadworthy and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
  • current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)

About the offer

The service navigator is a permanent fixed term maternity relief contract from 26 January 2026 - 15 March 2027 based in Townsville.
