It may not be an exciting title butitsan exciting role!Youllwork in the Operational Resilience Team(Ops Res)reportingintotheOpsResFramework Manager working primarily on supporting the delivery of the Disaster Recovery (DR) testing mayalsobe involved inwider team activityacrossOps Res Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR)andscenario testing.
In shortDRtesting is the process of verifying that a banks critical systems applications and data can be restored effectively following an outage or disruptive is performed using structured methods from walkthroughs and desktop assessments through to full technical failovers. The goal is tovalidatethat requiredobjectivesare metweaknesses areidentifiedand that recovery plansremainaccurateand up to date.
This role cuts across multiple areas of the Bank sowerelooking for self-motivated proactive individuals who havegreat communicationskills and who are ready to make a real difference. Whatyoullbe doing
- Supporting the development maintenanceand improvement ofDRplansrunbooksand test documentation in line with bank policies and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with service ownersSMEsandthird-party relationship managerstomaintainan accurateDR scope across allinscopeassets and Important Business Services (IBS).
- Support creation of DR testing calendars assigning test types (desktop assessments full failovers etc) according to asset criticality.
- Lead coordinate or support execution of DR tests guiding technical teams through recovery steps and monitoring progress against expected outcomes.
- Manage communications during tests including status updates incidentescalationand stakeholder briefings.
- Out of hours (OOH)workingmay berequiredto support / coordinate DR testing(paid as overtime or taken as time in lieu with agreement ofPeople Leader)
- Providing SME support to stakeholders across the Group on activities that couldimpacton premises technology informationpeopleor 3rd parties relating to important business services.
- Coordinationofmonthlyreports -collatinganalysingand summarising of operational resilience findings to create a holistic view of operational resilience across the Bank.
- Supporting with the management of the Operational Resilience risk profile including Control Assessments and reporting
- Supporting the development and implementation of Operational Resilience activities prioritising the needs of various stakeholders both within and out with VM (e.g. Regulatory expectations) while ensuring resource and operational challenges are managed.
- Maintaining the banks Operational Resilience Framework ensuring itremainscompliant in line with the latest FCA and PRA guidance and that we are continuously improving.
- Working with colleaguesacross the businessto ensure Operational resilience has a positive contribution to VMs performance by supporting the effective running of anyappropriate OperationalResilience forums.
- Actively seeking process improvements to drive quality and efficiency as well asidentifying owning and resolving any risk issues.
- Supporting theintegration and alignment of Virgin Money and Nationwide policy and process
We need you to have
- Disaster recovery planning and testing or relevant business /technical experience
- Experience communicating or presenting atdifferent levels.
- Experience of analysing and interpreting information topresent back to stakeholders.
- Ability to cope with multiple priorities in a rapidly changingand dynamic environment.
- Experience working with different teams who may havediffering priorities.
- Knowledge of Operational Resilience regulations the areas within operational resilience and how theseoperatein the Bank.
- Proven strong knowledge of Risk Management and Policy frameworks/methodologies and the 3 Lines of Defence Model.
- Aptitude in producing dynamic and high-quality MI reporting and implementing robust governance procedures.
- Knowledge of VMs governance framework.
- Management of senior stakeholders and proven ability to build relationships and influence.
- Knowledge of Service Now (experience preferred) and competent with Microsoft tools such as Word Excel PowerPoint
- The ability to positively challenge push boundaries and bring fresh thinking
