- Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as drill presses disc sanders spindle sanders table saws band saws planners jointers and radial saws.
- Read and interpret blueprints or drawings of parts to be cast or patterns to be made compute dimensions and plan operational sequences.
- Build offset parting boards and flask.
- Mount and gate working patterns as instructed.
- Verify conformance of patterns or core box dimensions to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers scales or micrometers.
- Repair and rework templates patterns and core boxes.
- Mark identification numbers or symbols onto patterns or templates.
- Must keep and maintain a neat and orderly workstation.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a technical field or training in a vocational school preferred.
- Basic machining experience preferred.
- Three (2) years experience in pattern making.
- Must demonstrate mastery of building offset parting boards and flasks mounting and gating of working patterns and conformance to patterns to specifications.
