Tyler Union Pattern Maker 1st Shift

•  Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
•  Set up and operate machine tools such as drill presses disc sanders spindle sanders table saws band saws planners jointers and radial saws.
•  Read and interpret blueprints or drawings of parts to be cast or patterns to be made compute dimensions and plan operational sequences.
• Build offset parting boards and flask.
•  Mount and gate working patterns as instructed.
•  Verify conformance of patterns or core box dimensions to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers scales or micrometers.
•  Repair and rework templates patterns and core boxes.
•  Mark identification numbers or symbols onto patterns or templates.
•  Must keep and maintain a neat and orderly workstation.

Qualifications :

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in a technical field or training in a vocational school preferred.
•  Basic machining experience preferred.
•  Three (2) years experience in pattern making.
•  Must demonstrate mastery of building offset parting boards and flasks mounting and gating of working patterns and conformance to patterns to specifications.

• Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing lifting balancing walking standing stooping and handling tools and materials.
•  Must wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes glasses gloves hearing protection and hard hats as required.
