What will you be doing
As a EC&I Engineer you will join a team in Warrington to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector. We are looking for EC&I Engineers will have a strong background in electrical control and instrumentation engineering with experience in designing developing and maintaining systems across industrial or high-tech environments. These engineers should be familiar with the industry standards codes and regulatory requirements.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Translate high-level requirements into detailed technical specifications ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC 61513 IEC 61227 and IEC 61508.
- Create detailed designs for electrical control and instrumentation systems including schematics wiring diagrams and layouts.
- Collaborate with vendors to source and manage equipment ensuring adherence to technical specifications and timelines.
Qualifications :
Required Skills:
- Proficient in relevant design and simulation tools (e.g. ETAP EPLAN)
- Knowledge of grid codes standards and regulatory frameworks
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Background in Electrical Control & Instrumentation engineering
- Experience working on industrial or safety-critical projects
- PLC programming and fault-finding (Siemens Rockwell / Allen-Bradley Schneider)
- SCADA / HMI development and commissioning
- Control panel design wiring diagrams and schematics
- Instrumentation selection calibration and loop checking
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profibus Profinet Modbus Ethernet/IP)
- Understanding of control systems and PID loops
- Experience with low voltage electrical systems.
- Exposure to hazardous or regulated environments (defence energy oil & gas nuclear)
- Site commissioning and testing experience
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
