In this role you will support the Test Engineering Department assisting with the operation testing and maintenance of equipment used to verify mission-critical systems. This role is focused on hands-on equipment-based work rather than design engineering. You will work under the guidance of experienced technologists and engineers gaining applied experience with test equipment technical documentation and standardized test processes in a controlled lab environment.
This position provides practical exposure to system- and component-level testing fault investigation and technical documentation helping you build foundational technologist skills in electronics testing and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the operation and testing of equipment using established procedures work instructions and standard test approaches.
- Assist with troubleshooting activities at the system and component level under guidance including investigating hardware firmware or software-related issues.
- Perform basic rework and assembly tasks such as mechanical assembly or introductory soldering as appropriate.
- Review and interpret technical documentation including schematics drawings parts lists bills of materials and acceptance test procedures.
- Record test results observations and failure information in quality or tracking systems.
- Assist with preventative or corrective maintenance activities on test equipment and lab tools under supervision.
- Collaborate with technologists engineers and production teams to support testing and issue-resolution activities.
- Contribute ideas and observations to support continuous improvement of test processes lab practices and documentation.
Qualifications :
Required
- Must be enrolled in a formalized co-operative education program.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related applied technical discipline.
- Interest in hands-on testing equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and work in a structured lab environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Motivated eager to learn and receptive to guidance from experienced technologists.
Preferred
- Exposure to electronics testing debugging or lab-based coursework.
- Ability to read and interpret basic schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as power supplies multimeters oscilloscopes or environmental chambers.
- Introductory experience with soldering mechanical assembly or rework activities.
- Experience recording results in quality systems logs or technical documentation.
- Exposure to firmware or software concepts related to diagnostics or testing.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $20.66 $23.42. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant experience. As part of student placement you will be eligible for quarterly pay increases.
