Sales Representative Industrial Tooling & Machining Solutions

Location: Germiston Gauteng

Reports To: Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

A leading provider of on-site heavy engineering and machining solutions with a broad portfolio of portable tools and services that optimise equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs across industries such as mining power generation petrochemicals and heavy engineering.

Job Purpose

To drive sales growth and expand market penetration in the tooling-heavy engineering sector by identifying engaging and converting new customers as well as managing and growing existing accounts. The role requires a blend of technical knowledge industrial sales experience and the ability to communicate complex solutions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify qualify and engage prospective customers in heavy engineering mining power petrochemical and manufacturing sectors.
  • Actively develop new business opportunities and revenue streams within the assigned territory.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals quotations and presentations tailored to clients operational needs.
  • Maintain strong sales activity records and pipeline in CRM systems.

Technical Sales & Product Knowledge

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of machining tools tooling solutions and on-site manufacturing services to advise customers accurately.
  • Translate technical specifications and application requirements into clear business value for clients.
  • Work closely with internal technical and engineering teams to develop customised solutions that address client challenges.

Account & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure long-term satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Conduct regular client visits product demonstrations and follow-ups to support product adoption.
  • Ensure post-sales support coordination with technical and service teams to enhance customer experience.

Market Insight & Strategy

  • Keep abreast of industry trends competitor offerings and tooling innovations to position effectively in the market.
  • Provide feedback to management on market dynamics and opportunities to refine sales strategies.

Reporting & Administration

  • Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs as agreed with management.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports and forecasts.
  • Attend industry exhibitions networking events and trade shows as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years sales experience in the industrial tooling on-site machining heavy engineering or related sectors.
  • Technical background or educational qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
  • Strong understanding of machining tools tooling systems and fabrication products.
  • Proven track record in meeting sales targets in a technical or industrial B2B environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and standard sales tools.
  • Must be results-driven self-motivated and comfortable with field-based activities.

  • Solid mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to interpret drawings and product specifications.
