Position Summary
Provide recreation leisure and social opportunities through planned programs and activities provided to help enhance each Elders quality of life reflecting their past and current interests.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Activity Aide:
Assist department staff in the development coordination and implementation of Elder programs/activities both in the Home and in the community. A mix of individual small group and large group options will be available.
Encourage Elder choice and independence in recreation and other activities as part of a person-directed care philosophy.
Liaise and work in cooperation with nursing dietary and environmental services.
Program planning and implementation dietary requisitions room bookings outing forms schedule volunteers purchase supplies assist Elders to and from programs/activities set-up and clean-up of program/activity spaces.
General:
Incumbents must keep up to date on all relevant legislation County Policies and Procedures etc. ensuring these are implemented as prescribed.
Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the positions Physical Demands Analysis.
