The Student Success Coach for Critical and Gateway Courses will provide individualized academic support coaching and mentoring to undergraduate students enrolled in foundational high-impact or challenging courses that are essential for progression in their academic programs. This position is dedicated to enhancing student retention persistence and graduation rates by focusing on students in courses identified as critical for academic success or as Gateway requirements for degree advancement. The Student Success Coach collaborates closely with faculty staff and campus partners and operates under the supervision of the Director of Student Success. #CB
Responsibilities- Mission Advancement
- Actively engages the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University by modeling the Franciscan values honoring the legacy of the founding congregation promoting justice for the communities we serve and integrating the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions in programs courses and services
- Student-Centered Coaching
- Provides personalized academic coaching and mentoring tailored to the unique needs of students in critical and Gateway Courses fostering a supportive and encouraging environment
- Proactive Intervention
- Identifies at-risk students early and implements individualized success plans regularly monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaboration and Communication
- Works effectively with faculty staff and campus partners to ensure seamless support and timely referrals for students
- Program Coordination
- Facilitate workshops group sessions and other programming that addresses academic skills professional development and wellness for students in critical and Gateway Courses
- Data-Informed Support
- Maintains accurate records of student interactions and outcomes using data to inform coaching strategies and contribute to program evaluation
- Equity and Accessibility
- Ensures all support services are accessible and inclusive adhering to institutional non-discrimination and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policies
- Continuous Improvement
- Participates in formative and summative evaluation of coaching practices seeking feedback and implementing changes to improve student outcomes
- Professional Development and Ethics
- Engages in ongoing professional development maintains confidentiality and upholds ethical standards in all student interactions
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsEXPERIENCE
- Experience working with student support or student life programs in higher education preferably with students in high-impact or Gateway Courses;
- Demonstrated expertise in academic coaching mentoring or retention strategies
EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Education Counseling Student Affairs or a related field
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills;
- Commitment to equity inclusion and student-centered service
