Job Summary

For our Group Compliance & Data Protection department we are looking for a Regional Compliance Officer (f/m/d) for the geographic regions of Eastern Europe Western Europe or Africa.

The position is based at our Headquarters in Heidelberg Germany and report directly to the Head of Compliance & Data Protection. Frequent travels to the respective geographic region is requested.

This team drives and further develops globally the areas of human rights data protection and general compliance.

In your position as Regional Compliance Officer you will be empowered to advance and improve our compliance management day by day. You will oversee all relevant compliance-related topics including the prevention of corruption anti-money laundering trade sanctions and compliance incident management in the respective geographic region. Beyond that you will contribute to the optimization of the global compliance organization and will take over the responsibility for some components of the Group Compliance Management System.

The combination of both Group tasks and country oversight tasks gives you the opportunity to delve deep into different compliance matters from several organizational angles and to thereby create meaningful synergies. You will be in close contact with other functional departments providing you with valuable insights into Heidelberg Materials business and operations.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

  • Develop maintain and manage assigned components of the Group Compliance Management System (e.g. policy management risk assessments e-learning IT tools etc).

  • Provide guidance and advice to the Country Compliance Officers in the respective geographic region.

  • Drive and ensure the constant optimization of the Compliance Management in the respective geographic region.

  • Responsibly convey and practically apply our Group Compliance standards in the respective geographic region.

  • Collaborate with the Country Compliance teams in the respective geographic region and act as their liaison to Group Compliance & Data Protection

  • Create compliance synergies between the countries in the respective geographic region.

  • Oversee the execution of risk assessments especially with focus on corruption and human rights.

  • Oversee the compliance reporting for the respective geographic region.

  • Manage critical compliance investigations and the handling of incidents for the respective geographic region.

  • Support Group Compliance & Data Protection in international compliance projects.

  • Manage compliance communication via various media channels within Heidelberg Materials.

YOUR PROFILE

  • University degree legal education is an advantage

  • Ideally at least 5 years of work experience in a similar role

  • Experience in living and working in the respective geographic region is a prerequisite

  • Willingness to frequently travel to the respective geographic region

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills

  • Fluency in English and at least one other language spoken in the respective geographic region

  • Experience regarding the needs and organisational challenges of an international Group of companies will be highly appreciated.

  • Intercultural awareness and diplomatic skills

  • Outstanding personal integrity and trustworthiness
