A large inclusive secondary school in south Birmingham is seeking a motivated and reflective Early Career Teacher of English to join its successful department from January 2026.
The English department is a real strength of the school and has a long-standing reputation for supporting ECTs exceptionally well. Literacy is prioritised across the curriculum and English teachers are given the time support and trust to develop strong classroom practice.
The Role
You will teach English across KS3 and KS4 working with a curriculum that balances high expectations with accessibility. Shared schemes of work common assessments and collaborative planning sessions ensure consistency while allowing you to develop your own teaching style.
You will be supported in:
Delivering engaging lessons focused on reading writing and discussion
Developing confidence in behaviour management using consistent systems
Using assessment to inform teaching without excessive marking
Building strong relationships with students and colleagues
