Job Summary

Job Summary: The Nurse Secretary assists the Nurse with a range of secretarial and office tasks to support the operation of the Nurses Office. The Nurse Secretary shall be a high school graduate have a current First Aid and CPR certification have the ability to cope with ill and injured students and/or adults have the ability to communicate with students parents/guardians and have the ability to maintain confidentiality. This position shall co-report to the School nurse and then to the Principal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Administer First Aid to ill and/or injured
  2. Maintain the daily log on students entering and leaving the Nurses
  3. Notify parents and dismiss students under the direction of the school
  4. Dispense medications under the supervision of the school
  5. Confer with the school nurse regarding health needs of the school
  6. Maintain the health records on each student record results of screenings vision and hearing scoliosis heights and weights and
  7. Assist with Health
  8. Inventory and maintain
  9. Monitor phone calls for Nurses
  10. Work with school nurse in compiling and distributing confidential lists to school
  11. Responsible for office housekeeping
  12. Assist school nurse in auditing immunizations and sending notices to
  13. Typing and filing records reports and
  14. Prepare records for transfer after consultation with the school nurse
  15. Compile statistical
  16. Other duties as

Supervision Received: Reports to receives daily work assignments and is evaluated by the Principal of Union Street.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No formal supervisory duties.
