Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Data Engineer is a senior individual contributor and technical leader responsible for the design evolution and reliability of data systems and pipelines across the organization. This role provides technical direction for data engineering initiatives translates business and product needs into scalable data solutions and leads execution across multiple engineers without formal people management responsibilities.
This position requires working onsite in Springfield Missouri.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads the technical design and implementation of complex data pipelines integrations and platforms.
- Translates business and product requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Defines and maintains data engineering standards and best practices.
- Leads code reviews and mentors engineers.
- Drives resolution of complex data issues and production incidents.
- Partners with product and analytics teams to improve data usability.
- Forecasts platform evolution and scalability needs.
- Supports development maintenance and operational stability.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelors Degree
- Certificate(s) or License(s): A certificate of training or expert in one of the systems supported is preferred
- Experience: 6-8 yrs experiencein data engineering with skills in Snowflake Python AWS
- Must have demonstrated experience designing solutions working in partnership with data architects
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Strong data engineering expertise
- Ability to lead without direct people management
- Strong analytical and communication skills

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies procedures and practices.
