The Opportunity
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER)is recruiting a Summer Student to join the talented team at the Information Managementand Technology (IMT)Branch. At theIMTBranch weare responsible fordelivering and supporting information technology systems and data management tools for thetherest of the organization.
As a Student Full Stack Developer youare responsible fordevelopmentof front-end (web) and back- endapplication and data services and APIs while fostering best practices like agile unit testing code reviews and continuous will ensure that these components and the overall deliverables are robust welldocumentedand easy tomaintain.
This role requires someone who takes ownership of the solution anddeliver. Someone who enjoys learningnew technologies concepts and areas of business with a team mindset highlycollaborativeand enjoys a fast-paced team environment. Hence a commitment to collaborative problem solving sophisticated design and quality product is important.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Participateinthedesignandimplementationoffullstackapplicationsusingcloud-based architectural framework
Analyzetechnicalrequirementsdeveloptestanddeploynewsoftwaresolutionorfunctional enhancements in a DevOps environment
Applythedevelopmentprocessesestablishedbythedevelopmentteamsuchastherevisionof code follow-up and change management and all DevOps practices.
BuildandmaintainAzure-basefront-endMicroservicesandFunctions(Express/Node)back-end using Azure DevOps Pipelines
Participateinbuildingcutting-edgemicro-servicesarchitecturefollowingbest-in-industrypatterns

Whatwerelooking for in you:
CurrentlyenrolledinaBachelors degree in Computer ScienceSoftware Engineeringor a related field.
Basic understanding of web development.
Interest in cloud technologies (Azure AWS or similar).
Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new tools and frameworks.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Information:
Proof of enrollment in a registeredpost-secondaryinstitution including enrollment in the semester following the work term or enrollment in a registered co-op program will be a condition of hire.
