Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a seasoned AWS Platform Engineer / DevOps & SRE to lead the design deployment and management of cloud-native platform components on AWS. This role is critical in ensuring system stability scalability security and operational excellence within our platform operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to optimize workflows implement automation and uphold compliance standards such as PCI. Your expertise will contribute to building resilient cost-effective and compliant cloud infrastructure supporting our enterprise solutions.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proven experience with AWS cloud services especially EKS ECS and Lambda (7 years preferred)
Hands-on knowledge of Terraform (IaC) for managing cloud infrastructure
Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools for automation
Strong understanding of cloud networking security and cloud-native architecture principles
Familiarity with Python scripting for automation tasks
Experience managing large-scale high-availability environments in regulated industries (e.g. banking finance)
Preferred:
Expertise with Container Orchestration (Kubernetes AWS EKS ECS) in production environments
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security standards (e.g. PCI ISO SOC)
Experience with cloud cost optimization and monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana
Familiarity with other automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet
Overall Responsibilities
Design implement and operate Kubernetes-based platform components on AWS (EKS/ECS) to support enterprise applications
Develop optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and foster continuous integration and delivery
Ensure security compliance and governance standards are embedded into platform architecture and operations
Collaborate with product teams and developers to streamline software release processes and improve operational agility
Implement automation for provisioning scaling and managing cloud infrastructure and platform components
Monitor system health troubleshoot platform issues perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents promptly
Drive improvements in platform reliability security observability and cost efficiency
Participate in on-call rotations supporting 24/7 platform stability and uptime
Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to best practices for cloud architecture and platform management
Stay current with industry trends and emerging cloud DevOps and SRE practices

Preferred:
Azure and GCP cloud services (basic understanding)
Containerization & Orchestration:
Kubernetes Docker EKS ECS

Terraform (latest versions) CloudFormation
CI/CD & Automation Tools:

Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 years in cloud platform engineering DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles in enterprise contexts
Demonstrated experience designing and managing large-scale AWS cloud environments (EKS ECS Lambda)
Proven ability to automate infrastructure provisioning deployment and operations
Experience within highly regulated environments such as finance or banking is highly preferred
Strong background in security and compliance frameworks applicable to cloud platforms
Day-to-Day Activities
Design deploy and manage cloud-native platform components on AWS for enterprise applications
Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines automating build test and deployment workflows
Monitor system health troubleshoot issues and perform capacity planning and scaling
Automate infrastructure provisioning patching and configuration tasks
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance platform efficiency and security
Participate in incident response root cause analysis and platform health monitoring
Conduct platform performance tuning cost tracking and resource optimization
Document platform architecture operational processes and best practices
Support frequent deployments and upgrades ensuring minimal downtime
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
7 years experience in cloud platform engineering with AWS focusing on EKS ECS and Lambda
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Professional are advantageous
Proven experience supporting large-scale security-compliant cloud environments
Strong understanding of cloud networking security and cost management
