What do you offer
The Manager Home Reno and Home Builders will provide strategic leadership and oversight to two key programs designed to prepare individuals for careers in the skilled trades and construction industries. This roleis responsible forensuring both programs meet theirobjectivesachievingemployment outcomes for participants andcomply withfunding requirements. The Manager will lead the development and implementation of program activities including pre-employment training technical skills training and job placement services. Additionally the Manager willestablishand lead an Advisory Committee working closely with key stakeholders including industry leaders trade associations and government agencies to ensure the programsremainrelevant and aligned with industry needs. The Manager will also oversee the programs budget manage staff and ensure that both programsmaintaina high standard of service delivery. By fostering collaboration between the two programs the Manager will ensure consistency and alignment in training and employment outcomes. The role requires strong leadership skills a commitment to workforce development and the ability to drive continuous improvement in program performance.
Some of the tasks of this position include:
- Lead the overall management and strategic direction of theYMCA Trades Technical Training Programs.
- Establish and chair an Advisory Committee building relationships with industry stakeholders to guide program development and ensure relevance to market needs.
- Ensure compliance with funder requirements including budgeting reporting and grant obligations.
- Cultivate andmaintainpartnerships with industry stakeholders trade associations and government agencies.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of both programs ensuring consistent service delivery and high-quality training.
- Support staff through performance reviews professional development opportunities and mentorship.
- Monitor program impact and outcomes making data-driven adjustments to improve service delivery and participant success.
- Ensure effective cross-program collaboration and alignment of training and employment outcomes.
- Raise awareness of the programs within the community and among potential employers.
What qualifications and abilities are we looking for

The successful candidate will have the following:
Education
- Post-secondary education or equivalent in the skilled trades
Language
- Fluent in English oral and written
- French is an asset.
Experience Skills and Abilities
- 2-4 years of program management experience with a demonstrated ability to oversee the implementation and success of complex programs ensuring the meetobjectivesand compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of the skilled trades
- Knowledge of resources available in the National Capital Region
- Project management experience
- Supervision or management experience
- Course/program facilitation or related experience
- Budget management experience
- Curriculum development experience is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in leading and coaching
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
