The Office of Career and Technical Education is responsible for providing leadership technical assistance curriculum development and accountability for grades 5-12 in North Carolina public schools to prepare students for careers and postsecondary education. The Office of Career and Technical Education serves as the Agencys contact for the Community College Systems articulation with Perkins legislation and accountability. The Career and Technical Education staff provides leadership service and accountability to local schools for Career and Technical Education programs and comprehensive career development. Services provided include policy development and interpretation curriculum development personnel and management of career and technical student organizations. Leadership includes maintaining partnerships with business/industry governmental agencies and trade organizations and associations.

Doctoral degree in education or in the special education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible experience in public education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience OR A Masters degree in education or in the special education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution and four years progressively responsible experience in public education.EEO Statement
