FACE (Family and Child Education) Early Childhood Teaching Position
Position Summary
The FACE Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for organizing directing supervising and guiding early childhood students in the educational process. Instruction is delivered within the educational philosophy of Nah Tah Wahsh Public School Academy and Hannahville Indian School under the program guidance of the Bureau of Indian Educations FACE (Family and Child Education) Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The FACE Early Childhood Teacher works collaboratively within a family literacy model alongside parents an adult education teacher and a preschool co-teacher. The center-based FACE program strengthens parentchild relationships by building parental confidence increasing educational skills and expanding family perspectives on academic success. The program also supports school readiness by preparing preschool-aged children for kindergarten while intentionally integrating tribal language and culture throughout program implementation.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Bachelors degree required; Early Childhood endorsement preferred
- Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Full-time position with comprehensive fringe benefits including health insurance life insurance MPSERS and optional short- and long-term disability insurance
