Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist to support national security customers by developing deploying and sustaining data-driven analytic solutions in classified environments. This role is suited for a strong individual contributor who applies data science methods to real-world mission problems while collaborating with subject matter experts and multidisciplinary technical teams.
The Data Scientist will contribute across the full analytics lifecycle including data ingestion exploration modeling visualization deployment and ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M).
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with government customers analysts engineers and subject matter experts to understand mission needs and analytic objectives
- Assist in translating customer problems into data science tasks and project requirements
- Perform exploratory data analysis on structured and unstructured datasets
- Develop and apply statistical models machine learning algorithms and analytic workflows
- Create visualizations reports and briefings that clearly communicate analytic findings and insights
- Support deployment monitoring and operations and maintenance (O&M) of analytic solutions
- Document analytic methods assumptions and results in accordance with program and customer standards
- Work collaboratively within an integrated multidisciplinary team environment
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Data Science Computer Science Statistics Mathematics Engineering or a related quantitative field with 12 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 10 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience applying data science or analytics techniques to mission-relevant problems
- Proficiency in Python and/or R including common data science libraries
- Experience working with databases and data query languages such as SQL
- Ability to communicate analytic results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting intelligence community defense or national security customers
- Familiarity with machine learning predictive analytics or natural language processing
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Exposure to big data or cloud-based analytics environments
- Strong analytical curiosity and problem-solving skills
- Experience providing instruction instructional design or curriculum development

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
