Overview
The primary function of the Mechanical Engineer (2nd Shift) is to safely perform tests and report testing evaluations and assist
with projects including quality investigations and process improvement. Work is to be performed in accordance
with established QA procedures.

Salary: $65K-$75K DOE
Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate all equipment necessary to perform testing in the Mechanical Lab
- Performs daily verifications and adjusts equipment baselines accordingly
- Performs RTT/ETT tests Charpy impacts Fracture Toughness Hardness Stress/Creep Rupture Full size Fastener testing Pressure testing
- Maintains mechanical testing equipment for operation and performs routine housekeeping tasks associated with the area(s) trouble shooting as necessary.
- Insures that ample supplies are available for operation of mechanical testing area
- Interface with clients on matters of concern/interest
- Other duties as required

Education and/or Experience
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions customer testing specifications and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions data and details furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Certificates Licenses Registrations

Physical Demands
- Frequency of required physical force: Occasional (moderate).
- Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Work is performed in a laboratory environment.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word Excel)
- Availability flexibility and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community with customers and within the company.
- Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Well developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect.
- Ability to interface with clients determine their requirements; helps develops proposals including cost estimates work plan and terms and conditions.
