Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Emergency Medicine

Full-Time Available

UMass Memorial Medical Group is seeking a motivated and patient-centered Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Emergency Medicine Department. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a fast-paced collaborative environment within the premier health system of Central Massachusetts.

About the Emergency Medicine Department

UMass Memorial Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center with a high-acuity Emergency Department offering comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient addition to providing care at this primary location Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) also support the Emergency Departments across our system including Memorial Marlboro Clinton Leominster EDs and Leominster Urgent Care Center. APPs collaborate with skilled emergency medicine physicians residents nurses and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality evidence-based care.

Position Responsibilities

  • Evaluate diagnose and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Perform medical screenings order and interpret diagnostic tests and initiate treatment plans
  • Perform procedures consistent with training and scope of practice
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary team members
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education
  • Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record

Schedule

  • Variable shifts including days evenings nights weekends holidays and on-call

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • National certification (ANCC AANP NCCPA as applicable)
  • Eligible for Massachusetts licensure
  • Prior Emergency Medicine experience preferred but new graduates with strong EM interest are encouraged to apply
  • Strong clinical judgment teamwork and communication skills
  • Must be able to work with pediatric patients
