Job Summary
Were hiring a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of custom high-speed automation systems. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation strong leadership skills and deep technical expertise in machine design. Youll be responsible for managing design projects from concept through to production working alongside a team of engineers manufacturing and procurement. You will be driving creative solutions for complex automation challenges taking machine design to the next level.
Responsibilities:
- Lead designs for new equipment development including existing systems evaluation.
- Conceptualize model and detail components and assemblies using AutoCAD and 3D CAD (SolidWorks).
- Perform engineering calculations (speed force torque temperature etc.).
- Evaluate and optimize existing mechanical systems.
- Collaborate in design reviews and cross-functional project planning.
- Mentor and supervise junior designers and engineers.
- Assist with Drawing file system administration and project documentation.
- Liaison between engineering procurement and manufacturing departments.
Requirements:
- 5 years of mechanical design experience in automation or machine building.
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is an asset.
- Well-versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics servo motors and machine shop practices.
- Experience with PDM document management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving organizational and communication skills.
