On behalf of our client we are seeking a Network Engineer who will be responsible for the design implementation operation and optimization of the organizations network infrastructure.
Overview of the Position
The role ensures high availability performance scalability and security of data and telecommunications networks in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design configure and deploy network solutions including LAN WAN Wi-Fi and IP/MPLS networks.
- Support network expansion projects upgrades and technology refresh initiatives.
- Configure and manage routers switches firewalls and network appliances.
- Monitor network performance availability and capacity to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network incidents and outages.
- Implement preventive maintenance and continuous improvement measures.
- Implement network security controls including firewalls VPNs access control and segmentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and applicable regulatory standards.
- Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities.
- Maintain accurate network documentation diagrams and configurations.
- Liaise with vendors service providers and contractors for network-related services and support.
- Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance activities as required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management to support network reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Telecommunications or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in network engineering or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with routing and switching TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPNs firewalls and network monitoring tools.
- Experience in ISP telecom or enterprise network environments is an added advantage.
