PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Effect the efficient operation of office routines associated with a busy yet productive and

smoothly-run human resources office so that it can play its effective part in the education

process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Certification:

A high school diploma or equivalent

Typing test >40 WPM required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Excellent communication time management and interpersonal skills

Excellent telephone skills and etiquette

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher and Excel

Proficient skills in typing word processing data entry scanning and file

maintenance

Ability to cross train and learn other areas of Human Resources

Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload so efficiency is maximized and deadlines are met

Possess a working knowledge of Workers Compensation and FML

Work Conditions:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and

peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including prolonged keyboarding & use of mouse;

occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent interruptions; Must maintain

professional demeanor under stress; Must have problem solving skills; occasional district-

wide and out of district travel

Regular attendance is an essential function.

Minimum Experience:

Prior clerical experience preferably in a public school environment

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Process classified applications and review required documents.
  2. Maintain classified applicant folders and files.
  3. Work closely with campus and department administration to expeditiously process and fill all vacancies.
  4. Provide excellent and timely service to all customers.
  5. Provide salary figures for new hires and payoff amounts for resigning staff
  6. Schedule score record and scan NCLB tests and results and ensure HQ status of candidates.
  7. Process all classified new hire and resignation paperwork including scanning as necessary.
  8. Process fingerprinting reimbursements.
  9. Collect retain and verify Service Records from other districts previous work history and other required documents related to employment.
  10. Verify previous work history and prepare salary paperwork for supervisor.
  11. Verify I-9 documentation for all newly hired employees.
  12. Assist current employees with questions regarding the resignation process.
  13. Assist prospective employees with questions regarding the application and onboarding process.
  14. Attend job fairs and recruit for paraprofessional positions.
  15. Assist new hires with EduHero including retrieving passwords and adding to the list verifying information etc.
  16. Serve as a backup for various positions within Human Resources (substitute teachers paras etc.)
  17. Maintain confidentiality.
  18. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  19. Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
  20. Comply with state district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers including the Texas Educator Code of Ethics.
