If you are a Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney OH location you will support the design development and qualification of oil-free centrifugal compressors for HVACR systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside product and design engineers in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.
As an HVACR Assembly Lab Technician you will:
Assemble and test centrifugal compressors following detailed engineering build instructions.
Operate laboratory assembly and measurement equipment including hydraulic presses micrometers torque wrenches pressure gauges voltage meters and standard hand tools.
Fabricate supporting components for non-standard tests including brazing soldering grinding sanding/lapping drilling/tapping and wiring.
Collect and document build data to ensure compliance with standards and takt times.
Assist with general laboratory upkeep and maintenance.
Required Education Experience & Skills
HVACR certification plus two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic mechanical HVAC and/or electrical/electronic/mechanical skills.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Preferred Education Experience & Skills
Associate degree plus three (3) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands-on experience in mechanical HVAC and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair.
Brazing and soldering experience.
Automotive or diesel mechanical knowledge and certifications.

This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration commercial industrial and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney who all support a multitude of business functions.
