About the position

We are seeking a postdoc fellow in translational proton therapy research at our new state-of-the art preclinicalproton therapy facility at Oslo University Hospital. The project aims todevelop a novel strategy for proton therapy combining metabolic drugs withproton irradiation to improve treatment outcomes of patients with prostatecancer. A central objective is to establish a robust preclinical pipeline forproton-drug combination therapies integrating medical imaging and digitalhistopathology with a goal for future clinical translation.

Work will be carried out in a cross-disciplinary team spanning radiation biology physics oncology radiology and pathologywith close links to our clinical collaborators at the hospital. The position isavailable for 3 years with the possibility of extension.

Tasks

  • Conduct pre-clinical studies in tumor-bearing mice
  • Apply MR imaging histopathology transcriptomics and related methods to assess tumor response markers following proton-drug combination therapy
  • Link preclinical data to existing pretreatment data of prostate cancer patients

Qualifications

Required

  • PhD in biology biophysics biotechnology or related fields
  • Hands-on experience with experimental research (cells and/or animal models)

Preferred

  • Expertise in animal models
  • Expertise in MRI histopathology ionizing radiation and molecular analyses
  • Experience with statistical methods for large scale data and image analysis
