Oslo University Hospital (OUH) is Norways largest hospital with over 20 000 employees and a budget of 20 billion NOK. It is a local hospital for parts of Oslos population. It has a regional function for the inhabitants in the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority and it also has a large number of national functions. The Hospital is responsible for the majority of medical research and education of health personnel in Norway.
The University of Oslo (UiO) is Norways largest research and educational institution with 28 000 students and 7 000 employees. Professional breadth and internationally recognized research environments make UiO an important contributor to society. The Faculty of Medicine was established in 1814 and is Norways oldest medical faculty. The Faculty works for progressive education research and dissemination for the patients and societys best interests. It is organized into three basic units and has approximately 1 500 employees (about 1 000 work years) and about 2 000 students.
A permanent position as Senior Consultant is available at the Department of Pulmonary Medicine Division of Medicine Oslo University Hospital. The position is affiliated with a part time position as Professor II SKO 1013 /Associate Professor SKO 1011 (20 % position) in Medicine (Pulmonary Medicine) at the Institute of Clinical Medicine Faculty of Medicine University of Oslo (UiO). It is required that the position holder attends to both positions.
The Department of Pulmonary Medicine covers a broad specter of activity covering all parts of pulmonary medicine except lung transplantation. We have a large outpatient clinic and our own ward. The Department also have national- and regional functions e.g. in cystic fibrosis allergology tuberculosis and ventilation support. The clinical work is varied and involves all parts of our addition OUH have a leading role in traumatology and complicated medical treatment in the region. The department have an important role serving this part of the activity in addition to education of physicians specializing in pulmonary medicine.
There are 20 Senior Consultants at the department out of which one is attached to professor II/associate professor position.
