About the Position
We are seeking a highly experienced Virginia State Inspector who operates at a senior level and takes pride in precision accountability and leadership in the shop. This role is intended for a proven techniciansomeone who can diagnose complex issues efficiently uphold inspection and safety standards without compromise and consistently deliver high-quality work.
As a key contributor to HoneyCar you will ensure every vehicle meets safety compliance and reconditioning standards directly supporting our promise of The Sweetest Way To Buy or Sell Your Car. This position requires strong technical judgment independence and the ability to set the standard for workmanship in the service department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs across engines transmissions electrical systems brakes suspension and drivability concerns
- Conduct Virginia State Inspections accurately and in full compliance with state regulations
- Identify safety issues and mechanical failures with minimal oversight
- Use diagnostic tools and software to efficiently troubleshoot complex vehicle issues
- Ensure all repairs and inspections meet industry standards and safety requirements
- Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding vehicle condition repair needs and timelines
- Maintain accurate inspection and repair documentation
- Assist with parts ordering and inventory accuracy as needed
- Stay current with evolving automotive systems technology and repair techniques
Qualifications
- Virginia State Inspector License
- Extensive hands-on experience in automotive repair and diagnostics
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
- Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools and shop software
- Professional communication and customer-focused mindset
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications or equivalent advanced credentials
- Familiarity with OEM repair and inspection procedures
- Specialized training in advanced diagnostics electrical systems HVAC or diesel
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday - Friday Schedule
- Weekends off
