This position works out of ourMenlo Park CA location in the Structural Heart division.Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist

WhatYoullWork On:
Ensures manufacturing engineering projects are on track supervises process validations and encourages continuous improvement activities.
Manages resource planning and implements project management tools.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Department managers in selecting and scheduling project engineers for Operations projects.
Support continuing production processdevelopmentand new productintroductions..
Monitorand evaluate project and department progress and results.
Participatein cross-functional teams.
Review and approve protocol and written reports.
Drive continuous improvement of engineering technical capabilities.
Prepare technical reports analysisrecommendationsand presentations reflecting the status and results of projects in progress on a regular basis.
Coach manage and develop technical staff.
Develop implementtrainandmonitoreffectiveness of engineering systems and procedures to ensure compliancetoFDA GMP and all other applicable agency regulations.
Ensure a safe work environment consistent with OSHA requirements and Abbott policies.
Prepare departmental budgets and control expenditures to stay within spending limits.
Hires andretainsa diverse highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Sets goals which align to department plans andmanagesthe execution of goals through coaching and mentoring.
Maintainsa safe and professional work environment.
Support all Companyinitiatives asidentifiedby management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS) Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and other regulatory requirements.
Complies withU.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations other regulatory requirements Company policies operating procedures processes and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees customers contractors and vendors
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5yearsManufacturing/process development experience with minimum 3 years of technical staff management experience and 3 years of project management experience involving coordination of cross-functional teams.
5 years prior experience in medical device manufacturing preferred. Experience with statistical techniques (e.g. DOE SPC). Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques value stream mapping and continuous improvement methodologies.
Solidpeoplemanagement and communication skills.
Solid knowledge ofGMPISO regulations.
Demonstrated success in leadingmfgtechnology transferprojecttoglobaloperations.
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Strong leadershipskillsincludingthe ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-pacedchanging environment.
Strong verbal and written communications withabilityto effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multi-tasks prioritizes andmeetsdeadlines intimelymanner.
Strong organizational planning and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
