We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team in ensuring the optimal functioning of all shop and field equipment and facilities. This role is part if a dynamic and engaged team and is responsible for overseeing the repair upkeep and preventive maintenance of machinery building systems and infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations.
This role reports to the V.P. Plant Operations and acts as the central point of coordination between senior management vendors contractors and staff to oversee the inspection maintenance and repair of all shop & site equipment safety gear a fleet of 25 vehicles and the structural steel fabrication facility itself. Additional duties include managing procurement of all required supplies & parts including corresponding purchase orders supervising cleaning & facility maintenance staff to ensure tasks are completed on schedule & to a high standard in a fast paced & deadline driven industrial environment.
Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Oversight
Develop and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all fabrication machinery and equipment at our plant small tools and site gear.
Monitor and adjust maintenance intervals based on performance data and manufacturer guidelines.
Coordinate inspections and diagnostics on cranes forklifts trailers welding systems and heavy-duty fabrication equipment.
Team Leadership & Training
Supervise maintenance staff assign tasks and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
Provide ongoing training and mentorship to technicians on equipment handling diagnostics and safety protocols.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure timely and effective resolution of mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues.
Compliance & Safety Oversight
Enforce compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all maintenance activities meet internal and external standards.
Inventory & Procurement
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of tools components and consumables.
Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts when needed.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities inspections and repairs.
Generate reports on equipment performance downtime and maintenance KPIs.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist in developing the maintenance budget and monitor expenditures.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient maintenance practices and vendor management.
Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with Operation teams to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
Recommend upgrades or replacements based on lifecycle analysis and performance trends.
Emergency Response
Coordinate emergency repairs and ensure rapid response to minimize production impact.
Develop contingency plans for critical equipment failures.
Technology Integration
Implement and manage CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or other digital tools for tracking and scheduling.
Stay updated on new technologies and maintenance best practices.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role in a manufacturing industrial or commercial setting.
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC plumbing electrical) and industrial equipment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
