An exceptional opportunity for an accomplished maths leader to lead and influence the maths curriculum provision standards and outcomes across maths departments in the Outwood Grange Family of Schools.

The Opportunity:

We are incredibly excited to offer a unique leadership role within the Maths School Improvement Team for an inspiring maths leader with a proven track record of raising standards and improving outcomes; this is a critical leadership role for the trust.

We seek a leader with a passion for mathematics education and a drive to transform the learning experience and lives of our students. You need to have deep subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise and current research-informed practice in order to drive systematic measurable improvement across all academies.

What will you be doing

The successful candidate will work across a number of academies within a geographical community in the North of England where youll be at the forefront of driving excellence in maths education. Youll work closely with senior leadership and subject teams as part of an experienced team of school improvement partners leading and developing maths departments shaping a curriculum that challenges and inspires students and improving teaching and outcomes for students.

You will join an established team of Maths SSIPs led by our Trust Strategic Lead for Maths as well as playing a role with other subject SSIPs in the development and implementation of our wider secondary curriculum.

This is a permanent full-time position with the opportunity to make a substantial impact on the maths and wider education of thousands of young people. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the maths education at the heart of a Trust that puts students first strives to demonstrate expertise in our respective roles and is obsessive about attaining the highest standards thereby transforming students life chances.

The role centres on driving excellence and consistency in teaching and learning for a specific subject across all allocated schools in alignment with the Trusts vision.

The Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Development

  • Model Leadership: Act as a system and subject leader and role model for subject leaders and teachers promoting the Trusts pedagogical strategies.
  • Improvement: Directly drive improvements in the quality of teaching learning and standards through mentoring and coaching.
  • Strategy: Take responsibility for an area of the subject strategy or development plan as directed by the wider Subject TSL (Trust Subject Leader).

2. Quality Assurance and Data Management

  • Data Analysis: Develop use and interpret accurate data on subject performance (Trust school cohort class level) to facilitate targeted intervention and ensure leaders/teachers understand and apply the data effectively.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Support accurate self-evaluation and systematic QA producing required reports and ensuring statutory requirements (assessment exam specifications) are met.
  • Compliance: Keep up to date with OFSTED requirements and evidence-informed practice.

3. Professional Growth and Community

  • Professional Development (CPD): Lead and develop a community of teachers and leaders identify subject expertise and ensure colleagues receive appropriate ambitious CPD.
  • Collaboration: Act as a facilitator/coordinator for new and innovative practice contribute to the Trusts School Improvement Strategic Plan and lead/participate in relevant events (e.g. Outwood Institute of Education).
  • Visibility & Support: Be a visible proactive and approachable ambassador for the Trust offering support on people and resource management (recruitment retention) related to the subject.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching that improves student outcomes.

As a SSIP you will bring expert subject knowledgeand the ability to interpret complex data to bridge performance gaps. We need a system leader who can model world-class teaching mentor staff at all levels and contribute strategically to our Trusts improvement plans.

Above all you should possess high emotional intelligence a proactive approach to problem-solving and a deep commitment to our Ambition without limit ethos. A full UK driving licence is required for travel between our academies.
