Job Summary
General Summary
The Test Engineering Technician supports Test Program Set (TPS) development and validation activities by building maintaining troubleshooting repairing and modifying electronic and electromechanical test equipment and systems. This role applies principles of electronics electrical circuitry and test methods to support product verification in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent electronics military schooling.
- Typically 24 years of direct experience performing test troubleshooting repair and maintenance of electronic test equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to read schematics drawings layouts and technical documentation.
- Experience using test and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
- Proficiency with standard business and reporting software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in Mass Transportation industry preferred
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong analog digital and mixed-signal troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform electrical mechanical and software troubleshooting on non-functioning test equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for test fixtures cables thermal chambers vibration systems and related equipment.
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical issues and corrective actions.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in teams and to think/act quick on their feet
