Schedule/Shifts: Per Diem Dayshift clinical hours available.

Location: Shifts available at various locations throughout the Twin Cities Metro area.

Pay rate: Up to $52.81/hour depending on experience!

*Providing coverage for a potential work stoppage starting as soon as February 1st.

What we ask of you:

• Record Patients presenting complaint and associated symptoms obtain medical history reconcile meds and document and update allergies.
• Perform lens neutralization and accurately refract.
• Plot visual fields using Goldman/automated perimeter and obtain intraocular pressure measurements with Goldman applantation tonopen and I-care.
• Assess pupillary functions check for color vision defects and take Keratometry readings.
• Perform strabismus evaluations Maddox rods cover testing Hirschberg-Krimsky measurements and examination of ductions and versions.
• Obtain A-scan and B-scan ultrasound readings and accurately obtain data for intraocular lense calculations.
• Calibrate an maintain clinical devices and assist eye care provider during minor/major surgeries.
• Administer oral and ocular medications as directed by eye care provider and explain physicians orders to include pre-operativeand other patient teaching as indicated.
• Photography (Internal and external) obtain quality OCTs of Optic Nerve and Retina.
• Triage patients both in-clinic on the phone or inbox messages and contact patients with results/arrange for additional testing.
• Review and respond to medication prior authorizations as well as refill requests.
• All other duties as assigned.

What we require of you:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year (full time equivalent of 2080 hours) or more of ophthalmic technician experience or completion of an accredited technical vocational school ophthalmic technician program.
• Ophthalmic technician certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCHAPO) or ready for certification for ophthalmic technician by JCHAPO.
• Must be professional punctual dependable and possess good communication skills. Must be able to interact with patients and staff in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Proficiency with computers and keyboarding.
