Application Engineer IV

Role Summary

We are seeking a Java Application Engineer with strong technical expertise and is passionate about software development to join our Vanguard Personal Investor Platform team. This candidate needs to demonstrate strong curiosity proactivity and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within our team and wider partners & stakeholders.

In this role you will

• Provide system analysis design development and implementation of applications and databases & integrate third party products

• Translate technical specifications into code for internal clients

• Write programs develop code & test artifacts

• Employ software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation

• Elevate code into the development test and production environments on schedule and provide follow-up production support submitting change control requests and documents

• Interface with cross functional team members and communicate systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience

• Understand and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures and verifies that deliverables meet requirements

• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

What it takes

• Any AWS knowledge Angular/HTML development knowledge would be a bonus but not required

• An understanding and appreciation of the benefits of Agile Kanban and Lean methodologies would be beneficial

• Proven experience of Java development experience in any industry.

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar or equivalent combination of training and experience

• An understanding of Languages/Framework (Required): Java Spring etc.

• Vanguard is not offering sponsorship for this position

• This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday)
