Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) STEPS Teacherat Westboro Elementary.
Westboro Elementary serves approximately 245 students in kindergarten to Grade 6 with 14 teaching staff and20 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.
Westboro Elementary is an educational community where people work collaboratively to develop their own as well as each others potential. The school believes forging a partnership with the home is essential to maximizing student development intellectually emotionally socially creatively and physically.
The Steps to Enhance Personal Success (STEPS) Program is a specialized system program designed to meet the needs of students with severe to profound developmental disabilities. These students may have physical sensory or behavioural challenges or medical conditions requiring specialized accommodations. The focus of the program is to build functional communication skills that enhance the quality of life within a safe and structured learning environment with regular routines and close supervision.
