What Youll Be Doing:As an Assistant Cook you will play a key role in bringing large scale high energy events to life.
- Support the culinary team in preparing and executing food service for banquets galas concerts conventions and special events
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team-oriented kitchen environment
- Assist with food preparation plating and service while following established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness organization and sanitation of workstations utensils and kitchen equipment
- Ensure food is prepared accurately and on time with attention to quality presentation and waste reduction
- Follow proper food handling storage and safety procedures at all times
- Assist with opening and closing duties to support smooth event operations
- Help care for and maintain kitchen equipment and tools
- Learn and grow culinary skills through hands-on experience alongside experienced cooks and chefs
- Contribute to positive guest experiences by delivering consistent high-quality food
- Perform other duties as assigned to support successful events
What You Bring to the Table- Experience with banquet catering or high volume kitchen environments
- Excellent knife skills and deep knowledge of cooking techniques
- Confidence supervising and mentoring kitchen team members
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate (Required)
- Culinary Trade Certification or Read Seal (an asset)
- A passion for food and a drive to do your best every shift
- Valid G License an asset (for off premise catering)
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and event based hours
