Position Summary

Youll partner with managers and teams to understand their needs and transform insights into engaging practical learning experiences that create real impact.

You will also play a key role in supporting Employee Resource Groups and mentoring initiatives helping expand participation and accessibility. As the County continues to grow youll lead new projects and drive leadership and workplace conduct programs grounded in racial equity and social justice. Using both qualitative and quantitative feedback youll evaluate whats working listen to emerging needs and adapt strategies to ensure learning remains responsive and relevant to staff and the community.

How to be Successful in the Role: We are looking for someone who brings a strong foundation in instructional design and adult learning principles with the ability to transform needs assessments into practical engaging training programs that drive meaningful change. You are confident facilitating conversations that challenge bias and foster inclusive welcoming workplaces applying a racial equity and social justice lens with authenticity and self-awareness.

You thrive as a consultative partner building trust across departments asking thoughtful questions and collaborating to solve workforce development challenges. You are analytical and use data and feedback to evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously improve programs. Managing multiple projects with precision you demonstrate attention confidently leverage technology and approach every task with flexibility initiative and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Core Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assess or assist in assessing training and organizational development needs; propose and develop training programs and delivery systems including in-person virtual classroom electronic learning and independent study.
  • Apply a Welcoming Workplace Culture and Conduct lens in all learning development and delivery efforts including collaboration with stakeholders and peers.
  • Develop project budgets; coordinate inter-departmental input.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design conduct and coordinate training programs including defining learning objectives; designing curricula; selecting training methods; designing program evaluations; designing and producing course material and training aids; developing participant selection criteria and assessing program effectiveness.
  • Ensure learning sites and facilities are accessible to people with disabilities.
  • Creates organizes plans and presents various forms of onboarding orientation and skills training for employees.
  • Develops unique learning programs to fulfill employees specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in education training and development organizational development human resources management business or public administration or a closely related field AND
  • Three years of experience designing implementing and presenting adult education courses with an emphasis on workplace training.
  • Additional education or experience that clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of this position may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and/or delivering training focused on Leadership Development.
  • Experience creating and/or delivering training related to Diversity Equity and Inclusion and/or Racial Equity and Social Justice.
  • Experience with adult learning methodologies or corporate training.
