Summary:
This position is responsible for performing technical duties in the preparation of surgical autopsy and cytology specimens for microscopic examination. It may also involve technical instruction of students in an ASCP-approved Histologic Technique program. The incumbent should be preparing to successfully pass the ASCP-HT examination which requires a minimum of an Associate Degree.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates Degree is preferred.
2. Completion of one college biology class and one college chemistry class is required.
3. One (1) year of experience as a Histotechnology Trainee or Histology Technologist.
4. Patience mechanical ability functional knowledge of anatomy chemistry and physiology is required.
5. Experience in enzyme histochemistry and immunoperoxidase stains is required.
6. Accuracy reliability working well under pressure ability to finish a task once started communication skills both oral and written are required.
7. Good hand/eye coordination speed with accuracy and good mental concentration is preferred.
Pay Range: $32.03- $44.83
