What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products transportation inventory management as well as demand supply and manufacturing planning.

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt storage and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving picking packing shipping staging transporting storage delivery etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Job Summary
The Manager Warehouse Operations Outbound oversees the buildings outbound processing including picking packing and shipping to achieve operational efficiency and safety. Through successful operational and people management this job delivers on the business units short-term goals improves profitability and develops the business units warehouse talent. This job also responds to urgent customer needs or supply disruptions to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled.

Responsibilities

• Leading and directing a Supervisory team of 3 Outbound Supervisors and 60 associates.
• Ensuring the timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting the distribution center standards of budget policies procedures and quality.
• Leading initiatives designed to improve processes or continuous improvement projects throughout the facility.
• Providing leadership to the team and challenging the status quo; interacting with employees on the floor and in an office setting.
• Influencing and understanding the business and culture strategy and translating the strategy into executable initiatives for their department.
• Interfacing with customers and suppliers to resolve issues and participating in regularly scheduled meetings (this may include travelling a few times a year).
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams at all levels within the organization specifically within HR and Operations groups daily.
• Cultivating positive relationships with peers and coworkers.
• Interviewing and making hiring decisions for supervisor lead and niche roles.
• Developing the supervisory and employee population which includes training coaching counseling and performance appraisals.
• Managing the distribution operation utilizing appropriate systems to track analyze and improve day-to-day operational metrics.
• Holding Supervisors accountable for their respective department MBOs.
• Enforcing Cardinal Health compliance and regulations for OSHA DEA FDA state and local authorities primary facility contact for QRA compliance.
• Managing site financial metrics including profit and loss and budgets.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
• Prior leadership experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working within a warehouse (or distribution) environment preferred
• Inventory planning and processing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (Pivot Tables and spreadsheets)
• Experience working within ERPs (Oracle or Manhattan) preferred
• Prior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiatives
• Adaptable to operational needs
• Ability to solve problems through complex scenarios and drive change
