A respected independent school in Dorset is seeking an experienced and compassionate SENCo to lead and develop provision for students with special educational needs. The Role
As SENCo you will have responsibility for coordinating SEND provision across the school ensuring that pupils with additional needs are identified early and supported effectively to reach their full potential. Working closely with senior leaders teaching staff parents and external professionals you will help embed inclusive practice across the curriculum.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing SEND provision across the school
Overseeing assessment identification and support strategies for pupils with SEND
Managing and reviewing individual learning plans and any EHCP-related processes
Advising and supporting staff on inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation
Coordinating interventions and monitoring their impact
Liaising with parents specialists and external agencies
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with SEND legislation
Contributing to whole-school pastoral and safeguarding systems
