Job Summary

A well-regarded secondary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCo to lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive leadership team and make a meaningful impact on inclusion student outcomes and whole-school practice.

The Role

As SENCo you will have responsibility for overseeing SEND provision and ensuring students with additional needs are identified early and supported effectively. You will work closely with senior leaders teaching staff parents and external agencies to deliver high-quality compliant and student-centred provision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing SEND provision across the school

  • Overseeing identification assessment and support for students with SEND

  • Managing and reviewing EHCPs and statutory processes

  • Advising and supporting teachers on inclusive strategies and differentiation

  • Line-managing SEND support staff and contributing to their development

  • Coordinating interventions and monitoring impact and progress

  • Working closely with parents specialists and local authority professionals

  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with SEND legislation

  • A proactive compassionate and student-focused approach
