Position Overview

The Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES) Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME) is seeking dedicated Customer Service Representative 2 candidates to provide front line support to the public. This role requires effective communication problem solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while ensuring accurate and timely service.

This is an on site position requiring in person interviews and residency within the local Flagstaff AZ area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with customers via phone or in person to provide information about services programs and eligibility requirements.
  • Process customer requests including orders account updates cancellations complaints and inquiries.
  • Provide services such as issuing licenses registrations titles permits and program-related information.
  • Ensure appropriate actions or corrections are made to resolve customer issues.
  • Document all customer interactions including inquiries complaints comments and actions taken.
  • Resolve service or billing issues by processing adjustments refunds or other corrective actions.
  • Complete forms update address records and manage service discontinuation requests using internal systems.
  • Refer escalated or unresolved issues to appropriate departments for further review.
  • Calculate service charges collect payments or deposits and arrange billing when needed.
  • Contact customers to provide updates on investigations or account adjustments.
  • Perform cash-handling duties including receiving payments reconciling daily receipts and preparing deposits for the bank or state treasurer.
Required Skills
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and agency procedures
  • Experience handling customer service inquiries issues and problem solving
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism when working with the public
  • Ability to manage difficult or complex customer service situations
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry accuracy
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages)
Additional Requirements
  • Must be local at the time of submission and available for in person interviews within one week of posting close date.
  • Must be able to start within two weeks of receiving an offer.
