Your Day to Day:
The Senior Project Engineer is accountable for all technical and commercial aspects of large and complex investment projects.
The typical budget is $5M to $60M and consists of various unit operations including material handling abatement systems utilities and electrical controls.
Responsible for equipment and work specifications; develops schedules budgets and forecasts; selects materials equipment project resources and contractors and ensures all aspects of the design are reviewed technically and commercially for scope safety quality and functionality.
Leads a cross-functional project team that typically consists of plant personnel discipline engineers procurement and external engineering contractors. Reports to the project steering team which reviews options and provides support and guidance at the various phases of the project.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering (chemical electrical or mechanical) with a minimum of
5 years engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing industry
Strong project management skills with projects up to $25M
Experience managing contractors and sub-contractors including bid process
Experience preparing estimates schedules and project deliverables
Proven ability to negotiate and manage change
Exposure to SAP systems a plus
Heavy travel required (30%-60%)
Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility: May be exposed to environmental conditions of cold heat high noise levels moving mechanical parts heights dust/mist/gas/fumes extensive walking or climbing etc.
