Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
These positions are represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and are subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.
DEPARTMENT: Library
HOURS OF WORK: Monday & Tuesday 9am-6pm; Wednesday & Thursday 11am-8pm; Friday 9am-6pm
LOCATION(S): 3600 Denali St. Anchorage AK 99503
Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.

Example of Duties
Provide reference and readers advisory services in person over the phone and electronically to youth parents teachers and caregivers. Instruct the public on resources including databases Internet the library catalog and print resources. Plan and implement programs for the public under the supervision of a librarian. Assist in collection maintenance duties. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external patrons. Establish and maintain effective relations with co-workers the public and vendors. Other duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma GED or equivalent and four (4) years of library clerical and/or technical experience.
OR
Associates degree in Library Science or a related discipline and two (2) years of library clerical and/or technical experience.
OR
Bachelors degree in Library Science or a related discipline and library experience.
Additional Important Information
Preference will be given to returning Seasonal Employees who are eligible for Recall and to any Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees. AMEA employees who are successful in the screening process will be forwarded to the department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA applicants.
