DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our 16-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit is rated as #8 for Rehabilitation in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and continues to hold CARF (Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) certification. Rehab nurses provide specialized nursing care to patients with the following: spinal cord injury or disease (including tetraplegia with mechanical ventilation); acquired brain injury; stroke; tumor; amputation; neuromuscular diseases; musculoskeletal diseases; solid organ blood and marrow transplants; and mechanical circulatory support devices (VADs). Rehabilitation is provided by an interdisciplinary team composed of the patient and family and individuals from many health care disciplines.
